Environmental Litigation

Reardon Scanlon's attorneys environmental regulatory and litigation experience includes representing environmental consulting firms as well as manufacturers in the defense of EPA-brought claims and enforcement proceedings.    Some examples of our attorneys' environmental regulatory and litigation experience include the following:  

  • Defending a environmental consulting firm in an EPA enforcement proceeding relating to PCB-contaminated soil;
  • Defending a manufacturer in a TSCA records violation; 
  • Defending a coal-fired energy plant in connection with the improper discharge of PCBs;
  • Prosecuting a multi-million dollar cost recovery action for Alcoa against a Swiss predecessor for improper disposal of PCBs at a coke calciner facility in Lake Charles, LA;
  • Defending a PCB cost recovery action brought by a golf course (resulting in zero liability to our client);
  • Working with the PCB Penalty Policy as well as the regulations pertaining to disposal of “white goods” containing PCBs; and
  • Representing an environmental contractor in a matter concerning the alleged improper disposal of asbestos containing material.
